Linde Vi 253 Welder Manual Wiring
Greetings, I hope this is the correct forum, please move if necessary.
I have a Linde VI-253 CV with a Linde/L-Tec MIG-35 PN 95355 wire feed unit that has recently been giving me some issues & I was hoping to find some advice and/or perhaps a manual/schematic/wiring diagram.
This machine probably get used 10hrs a year & last weekend I attempted to use it & I could hear the welding contactor slowly bouncing/banging a few times a second fairly rhythmically anytime the trigger was depressed at low wire feed settings. Further investigation revealed that the contact bounce is proportional to the wire feed setting, and unfortunately the contact bounce only stops when the wire speed is too fast to be usable. I had a new (furnas) contactor available, so I gave it a try & the issue persists. I’m running this machine off a 20hp rotary phase converter with the control transformers on the non-manufactured leg & hadn’t had this issue before last weekend.
Have anyone heard of any similar issues before and/or have any ideas where to look?
Thanks & take care,

I recently purchased an old Linde VI-200 CV power supply with an Oxymatic wire feeder. It came with a Tweco 400A gun and a few consumables. I couldn't pass it up for $300, especially for a machine with a 100% duty cycle at full power I went through the machine; replaced a few caps, a relay, added a digital voltage display, and wired in a switch. I've got a pair of Linde VI-253 3 phase welders wired for 230v & running well on 3 phase, thought I'd try a single phase conversion and wondering if someone can check to see if this would work, and suggest cap values (spec is 29A at 230v) Here is the original schematic, simplified drawing and proposed modification, any suggestions welcome as I. Manual Metal Arc (MMA) welding is the most flexible and one of the most widely used arc welding processes. It involves striking an arc between a covered metal electrode and a workpiece. The heat of the arc melts the parent metal and the electrode which mix together to form, on cooling, a continuous solid mass.
