In the 64% Cataclysm client available on the internet, you can run Blizzard Background Downloader.exe and it will install 4.3.3 to 4.3.4 but it downloads like 6.6gb worth of files so it's what was missing I'm guessing. I'll post back if it works for anyone else that needs the info. I'm needing full Cataclysm so I can extract maps, vmaps, and mmaps.

Macros and addons are an integral part of a raider's arsenal as they can make it easier to perform a variety of tasks, improving your overall game experience. Below, we present macros and addons that can be useful to a Demonology Warlock (WoW 4.3). On the left side, you will find links to the other parts of the guide.

1.1. Generic Macros for Warlocks

1.1.1. Soulstone Mouseover Macro

  • #showtooltip Create Soulstone
  • /cast [target=mouseover,exists] [] Create Soulstone

This macro allows you to cast Create Soulstone on a raid or party member by simply hovering the mouse over their unit or raid frame. If you are not hovering over any friendly unit's unit frame, it will cast Create Soulstone on your current target.

1.2. Specific Macros for Demonology Warlocks

1.2.1. Hellfire Cancelaura Macro

  • #showtooltip Hellfire
  • /cast [nochanneling] Hellfire
  • /cancelaura [channeling] Hellfire

This macro will allow you to turn your Hellfire on and off by clicking the same button. Pressing it while Hellfire is off will activate it, and pressing it while Hellfire is on will turn it off.

2.1. Generic Addons for Warlocks

2.1.1. ElvUI

Here, at Icy Veins, we use ElvUI for all our characters. This addon is a complete replacement of the default User Interface. It comes with almost everything you need to perform properly: action bars, cooldown timers, proc display, etc.

We strongly recommend you to get this addon.

2.1.2. Boss Mods: Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigs

Cataclysm 4.3 4 Addons

Boss mods are addons that warn you about boss abilities and give you live advice on how to handle some mechanics. We strongly recommend you to get one such addon. At Icy Veins, we mostly use Deadly Boss Mods, the most popular boss mod. A good alternative is Big Wigs.

2.1.3. Power Auras Classic

Power Auras Classic is an extremely useful addon that allows you to have visual effects on your screen, helping you track your buffs, debuffs and cooldowns. It is highly customisable and it can make it much, much easier to keep track of your procs and play your spec more proficiently.

2.1.4. Omen Threat Meter

Omen Threat Meter is the most popular addon for displaying the current threat levels on your target. We recommend you to use it to avoid taking aggro when the tank is still building up threat on an enemy.

2.1.5. Parrot or Mik's Scrolling Battle Text

Parrot and Mik's Scrolling Battle Text are highly customisable addons for displaying floating battle text while in combat (incoming heals, damage of your spells, etc.). They both work very well by default.

2.1.6. Recount

Cataclysm

Recount is a well known addon that most people use for displaying current DPS or HPS (Healing Per Second). We advise you to also use it for checking what you take damage from and if the share of damage/healing you do with each of your abilities is similar to that of other players of your class.

2.1.7. Grid and GridClickSets (Optional)

ElvUI comes with decent raid frames. The only real reason for using Grid and GridClickSets is if you want to be able to use Create Soulstone on raid or party members by mousing over their raid frame. If you choose to go with Grid, then you might want to also use GridStatusRaidDebuff.

2.2. Specific Addons for Demonology Warlocks

Currently, we feel that there is no need for additional addons to play a Demonology Warlock to its full potential.

Gearing Up and Best in Slot

One of the most frequent questions hunters ask is where to find information regarding macros. This WoW hunter macro guide gives a basic introduction to macros and lists several PvE macros useful in raiding. We provide links to several good detailed macro guides and to more extensive lists of specialized hunter macros for PvE and PvP.

A macro is a group of slash commands grouped together into a file that can be executed with a single mouse click or keystroke. Warcraft allows each character to have 36 general macros (available to all characters on your account) plus 18 character-specific macros for a total of 54 available macros per character.

How to Create a Macro

  1. Open the macro editing window by typing /m.
  2. Click “New.”
  3. Choose a name. It’s best to choose a unique name for each of your macros.
  4. Choose an icon. If you pick the default question mark as your icon, WoW will automatically assign an icon corresponding to the first spell in your macro. However, if you place a “#showtooltip Explosive Shot” statement at the beginning of your macro, for example, WoW will display the icon, mouseover tooltip, and grey-out cooldown wheel for Explosive Shot on your action bar.
  5. Enter your macro in the text box
  6. Click “Save”.

Raiding Macros

Here are a few examples of macros that I find the most useful for raiding on my hunter:

Normal Arcane Shot Macro

In addition to casting Arcane Shot, this macro cancels Deterrence and Hand of Protection. It tells your pet to cast Rabid (included because of the Rabid auto-cast bug) and if you have a wind-serpent it will tell it to cast Lightning Breath (included because of the pet ranged attack auto-cast bug with Ultraxion). You can use the same macro structure for all of your damage shots by just substituting the name of the shot for “Arcane Shot”.

Blow Cooldowns

This macro casts Rapid Fire and Call of the Wild. If you have the Kiroptyric Sigil trinket equipped (for Spine of Deathwing) it will activate it. If you have a Potion of the Tol’vir in your inventory you will consume one. If you’re an engineer you can add a line to activate your Synapse Springs (/use 10).

Multi-Shot AoE Macro

I use this macro for AoE. It will acquire a new target for you if your current target dies.

Pet Macro

If your pet is not active, this macro will call it. If your pet is dead, it will be revived. If your pet is active and you left click, it will cast Mend Pet. If your pet is active and you right click, your pet will be dismissed.

Misdirection Macro

If you have a player as your focus, you will md to them. If you don’t have a focus, it will md to your pet.
